šŸ“° Chisme Dominguero: Toy Drives, Vision Boards, and How We Fight Back 11/23/25

Familia, pull up a chair. It’s Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, and there is a lot of chisme (news) you need to catch up on—from planning your 2026 to protecting our neighbors from raids.

At Nuestra Linea, we don't just sell cuts; we use our platform as a community sanctuary to keep you connected, informed, and armed for the movement. Here’s the latest straight from the SELA streets.

✊ The Movement: Protection & Unity

The fight for our community's future is always active, and the news cycle proves why we must stay ready:

  • Shielding Workers from ICE: There are serious efforts underway by LA employers and labor groups to shield workers from ICE activity. This is the kind of practical action we support. Link to story

  • Black & Latino Unity: In South LA, our Black and Latino neighbors are uniting against ICE as systems continue to fail us. This coalition is critical; unity is our boundary marker. Link to Story

We refuse to be silent. That's why we carry gear that's more than just merch—it's equipment for cultural resistance.

šŸ”„ The Drop: Gear for the Fight

La Tiendita is always stocked with the uniform for the resistance. Equip yourself and broadcast the message:

  • Chinga LA Migra Hoodie (From $24.84): Stay warm and send an unapologetic message. GET IT HERE

  • Just Deport ICE T-shirt (From $15.48): An accessible piece of activist streetwear. GET IT HERE

  • Protest Whistles w/ICE Reporting Hotline Number 20 Pack ($14): This is essential, low-cost equipment for community safety. Know your rights and be ready to warn others. GET IT HERE

šŸ—“ļø Community Sanctuary: Mark Your Calendar

Your support allows the shop to function as a community hub, which means we can spotlight essential, local events that keep the culture moving.

  • Mark your calendar for the 2nd Annual Toy Drive on Sunday, December 14th (11 AM - 4 PM) at the shop (4471 Tweedy Blvd). Entry is one unwrapped toy and earns you a chance at FREE HAIR CUTS. All proceeds benefit local families affected by immigration actions in South East LA. This is how we fight back!

  • Toy Drive for System-Impacted Families (Ends Nov 26): The holidays are especially hard for kids separated from an incarcerated parent. LOUD, in partnership with @cruzitasdeliandcafe, is collecting new, unwrapped toys (ages 5-16) for families supported by the Center for Restorative Justice Works (@crjw). Drop off locations are at Cruzita's Deli and Cafe (Huntington Park) and Local Fixture (Whittier). Let's make this season brighter! MORE INFO

  • VERSOS PARA LUPITA Part II (Sat, Nov 29, 6-9 PM): This opening at Art Space HP features powerful photographs documented throughout the years of La Virgencita alongside Xitlalic’s printed poetry, with DJ Natmilla bringing the music. Join us! MORE INFO

  • Manu x Art Supply Swapmeet: Vision Board (Thurs, Dec 11, 7 PM): Come plan your 2026 at Art Space HP! This workshop, led by @manudelmarceramics and @artsupplyswapmeet, is the perfect chance to build your vision board for the new year. MORE INFO
